Ways to Cope up with the Lockdown

These are challenging times. No one would argue. And it is during these times when our real spirit shows. If we have to beat the virus, we have to do it together. Perhaps, our togetherness is the thing being tested here. So why not take a pledge to overcome this hurdle together? We are there to help you out always, be it sports or situations like these. If you were wondering what you could do to cope up with this isolation, then this is just the place for you. We have come up with some cool hacks for you to get through this period.

Maintain Your Daily Schedule

That’s right. Work from home does not mean getting up at 10 AM to begin work at 10:30 AM. You need to maintain the same body schedule and follow the same daily patterns that you used to before the lockdown. It will help your body stay active, and your mind will remain fresh.  Follow your Fitness Regime

If you were one of those people who were secretly happy, that the gyms are closed. Then we are sorry. Following your fitness regime is the best thing that you should do, to remain active. More than remaining active, it is about achieving those targets that you had set for yourself. This is not the time to let your motivation take a dip.

And guess what? We already have some exercises ready for you to do at home. https://www.rookiedeck.com/

Find Fun Ways to Spend Time with Your Family

If we are all being completely honest, then our family time was the worst hit during a usual workday. Now that you have a different kind of a workday, why not pay some attention to the most loved ones. Here is a list of games that you should play:

  • Monopoly
  • Ludo
  • Carrom
  • Dining Table TT

Might we also suggest video conference calls, only this time not with your work colleagues? It’s time to video conference with your friends, your relatives and schedule online games with them. When you have the technology why not use it? It is more fun then you could imagine.

Develop a Productive Habit or Acquire a New Skill

Finally, you have the time to learn that new language you always wanted to, or to finish that book that you carried everywhere with you. Indeed, it is time to clear all those backlogs. A general backlog list looks somewhat like this:

  • Learn a new Language
  • Finish that Book
  • Map out a monthly plan
  • Learn to cook that new dish
  • and our Favorite, Clean the room

This is generally, what backlogs look like. You have time to wipe the slate off. Just plan out your day, and allot time to all those activities. We are sure your day will fly as a chocolate dessert does among a group of friends.

 Limit Social Media Usage

Frankly, most of us had been trying to do this for quite some time now. But every time it was something or the other, that forced us not to. Here is your perfect opportunity. Rather than spending time hooked to your phone, here is a list of other cool stuff that you should do:

  • Learn to Cook
  • Go through your old photos and albums
  • Watch the Classics with your family
  • Pick up Yoga or Meditation as a habit

Honestly, there is so much more to do, apart from living in the digital world.

For a change let’s try living in the actual world, shall we?

Indulge in Self Care

It is the need of the hour. More so than anything else. Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean you can take things lightly. Staying at home is one piece of the puzzle. The other pieces to complete the bigger picture are:

  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Use a face wash at least thrice a day
  • Follow a proper sleep cycle. Sleep for at least 7-8 hours.
  • Eat right. Don’t indulge too much in fatty food

This is something that we should follow every day. This period can act as the perfect launchpad for us to inculcate these habits. Let’s focus on achieving these results here, rather than the approach. So make sure you take care of your body.

Have a Dedicated Work and Study area

Yes, we have saved the most important for the last. If you were thinking, that you would be able to work or study from your bed then we have some news for you.

Productivity will always elude you unless you define a proper workspace even at home. You need to get in the zone of work, to work. And that is precisely the reason why you also go to the office. Since your home is now the office, why not make it feel like one, temporarily at least.

These were some hacks to help you get through this period. But above all, Stay Positive. It is a battle that we have to win at all costs. Stay Home, Stay Safe.
